email us your logo and we can get the van dressed up to impress your group!

Currently we have 2 15-passenger vans, a huge box van, and a few personal trucks and vans to help customize your road trip with us.

We have experience with large groups. Even 50 can be done with a smile. Ride smooth bike paths or go on an off-road singletrack adventure. Rent our bikes or use your own.

One of the better mountain bike rides in Truckee called Hole-in-the-ground is best done as a car shuttle. You can also ride great singletrack from Donner Summit back to our shop with a quick shuttle ride up there. We'll help you figure out a ride that is all downhill, or a mix of climbing for views and then descending for miles and miles.

How about leaving the area? We know the trails, camping areas, and good food in many mountain towns. Our favorites for mountain biking are Sun Valley Idaho, Moab Utah, and a few gems in Oregon. Of course we can go anywhere you want, guided by the right locals or non-guided the way you usually do it. We just want to go have fun with you guys!

The Tahoe City Nordic Center is the largest flat and easy area to mountain bike nice singletrack trails in all of Tahoe/Truckee. My 8 year old knows the trails and loves to come along and ride out front. This is the gateway to some great challenging long distance singletrack adventures as well.

We have kayaks, canoes, and standup paddleboards. We also have road bikes, mountain bikes, kids bikes, child trailers and tag a longs. We can outfit anyone to ski or snowboard at the resort or in the backcountry as well.

The big truck can move a lot of gear with ease. And we do it, you can hang out and socialize with your friends for a change!

How about a backcountry trail run from point A to point B. We'll shuttle the van, help you plan a route, or even just go with you to talk trails or whatever you want. Cross Desolation Wilderness in a 30 mile jog, traverse the Pacific Crest for 15 miles from Squaw to Donner Summit, or ask us to suggest any number of excellent routes in Tahoe or the Eastern Sierras.

Ok, let's go Rock Climbing! Hire us to take over any and all of your trip details from people moving and gear schlepping to camping accomodations or full on professional mountain guiding with our partners at http://www.alpineskills.com . These great folks share our Truckee store and work seamlessly with us. Bela Vadasz IFMGA has been in business for over 30 years and employees the most experienced and certified guides available.

Ski Touring has been our specialty for nearly 20 years. We know the sierra from Mt. Shasta to Mt. Whitney. email mike@thebackcountry.net or call my cell phone 530-362-0020 to end the delay. We know you want to do this. Let's go!

Mike is one of the ASI guides, but you'll be really impressed as well with some of Bela's long time pros who have done this for many decades. Go with a real guide and skip the learning curve. Or if your a seasoned vet and just want to learn some cool sierra routes and go fast, we can do that too!

Logan Talbot is one of the guides and also a BackCountry employee of many years.

Standup Paddleboarding is a new passion of many Tahoe locals, and you'll see why quickly. This is both relaxing and/or a great workout. It's an excuse to get on the water, and a fantastic social activity to do near a nice beach. Let us pick your group up in the van or just have us deliver boards wherever you want them. We have about 20 quality rental boards, and we sell them too.

Tired of bikes breaking, squeaking, and groaning on the trail? How about riding with a pro mechanic from The BackCountry?
Image

Mike has gone to moab quite a bit since 1994. We have past employees that live there as mt. bike guides, or we can just haul you and your friends with gear and help with ride logistics in this amazing landscape.
Image

We go to the Sun Valley/Ketchum Idaho area every year where you'll find some of the best singletrack anywhere in the world.

How about kids? Mine are 8 and 10, and we do all of these activities. Hire me for a birthday party or group backcountry gear rental or tour. We can go biking, hiking, rock climbing, camping, skiing, paddleboarding, or kayaking. Put all the kids together and it gets a bit crazy, you'll need us there to help. But they also stop complaining and start finding their competitive and adventurous spirit.
